I realised something crazy last week:
I no longer choose what to buy — AI does.
And the wild part?
It didn’t even feel strange.
I wanted to buy new memory-foam pillows.
Normally, I’d spend 20 minutes scrolling Amazon… comparing brands I’ve never heard of, reading reviews written by people I’ll never meet.
But this time, I didn’t open Amazon at all.
I just asked ChatGPT:
“Find me the best memory-foam pillows under this price with this quality.”
And I bought the one it recommended.
No reviews.
No filters.
Just trust + speed.
This isn’t a small thing.
This is how search — and buying behaviour — is shifting.
People don’t want choices now.
They want answers.
If your business isn’t the answer AI recommends, you’re invisible.
Do you feel your buying habits are changing too?

Recently, an international friend of mine was struggling to find a cheap hostel in Budapest. He asked if I could help, since I travel from Pécs to Budapest every week and know the city well. I decided to use ChatGPT Pro, and it happened to be the first time I tried the Agents feature.
I gave it a prompt telling it to act as my “hostel-finding agent” and instructed it to search for the cheapest accommodation near the city center, with all the necessary context. It spent around 15 minutes searching thoroughly, and in the end it presented just one option the cheapest and best-rated choice among all listings.
My friend was shocked at the price. If he had searched on his own, he would’ve been overwhelmed by endless options and stuck in decision paralysis. Instead, the agent filtered everything down to the single best deal.
And Yes!! Our buying patterns, behaviours gonna shift soon!!
